PROFILE OF GRADUATES

Graduates of the field of study are equipped with knowledge and skills enabling effective performance of managerial work in various educational institutions, such as school facilities, educational institutions, language schools and other institutions dedicated to education. Within the study, emphasis is placed not only on acquiring theoretical knowledge, but also especially on the ability to work independently with professional and data sources, the ability to deduct and formulate one's own conclusions and opinions, the application of theoretical knowledge in solving tasks, and the ability to utilize knowledge gained from case studies.

For successful completion of the study programme, the student fulfils study obligations, especially:

Students have to write and defend their final thesis, the topic of the thesis is chosen by the student in accordance with the study field. The chosen topic of the thesis is approved by the Faculty and with regard to the chosen topic, the student is assigned a supervisor for assistance.

Completion of thematic subjects that form the basis of the Doctor of Education study programme.

SYLLABUS

Study subjects of the Doctor of Education study programme (Ed.D.):

• The thematic subject Managerial Competencies and Leadership deals with the basic competencies of the manager of an educational facility, for example, interpersonal and personnel competencies and other basic aspects are discussed.
• In the thematic subject Project Management, students focus on project-based activities and their efficient management.
• The thematic subject Management in Education and Administration is narrowly focused on education management, the topics of the schools structures, the position of the head teacher and other important aspects are also discussed.
• In the thematic subject Modern Technologies in Education, students acquire knowledge related to modern technologies that can be provided for an educational institution.

The study is always started individually with the student and begins at the moment of registration for the study programme. The form of study is in distance (online) form.

The condition for completion of the study is the successful passing of the above-mentioned thematic subjects, and the elaboration and defense of the thesis. For the elaboration of the thesis, each student will be assigned a supervisor in the given field, designated by the Faculty of Administration and Economic Studies in Uherské Hradiště.
